FirefoxDownloadsView is a lightweight and portable application that can help you easily find out all files recently downloaded with Mozilla Firefox. It features exporting options and other intuitive settings that can be easily figured out by users, whether they have previous experience with these kind of tools or not.
Since there is no setup pack involved, you can save the program files to a custom directory on the hard disk and just click the executable to launch FirefoxDownloadsView. Another possibility is to save it to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.
What's more, the app does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, thus leaving no traces behind after its removal.
Simple interface with clear-cut options
The GUI is user-friendly, based on a normal window with a well-organized layout, where the list with visited URLs is immediately populated at startup. You can inspect the full path file name, referrer, downloaded and total bytes, start and end time, average speed, download ID and status, among others.
Selected entries can be copied to the Clipboard or the entire list can be exported to file for further evaluation and safekeeping. You can use a search function to spot specific files easier when dealing with large amounts of data, create an icon in the system tray area for FirefoxDownloadsView for easy access, modify the browser profile path, and so on.
Evaluation and conclusion
There were no kind of issues in our tests, since the program did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It has a good response time to commands and worked well in our evaluation, without hanging, crashing or popping up error messages. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, FirefoxDownloadsView can be used by anyone who wants to examine files downloaded through Firefox.
